New to Staff
Hi Friends! I’m so excited to get to meet you all! I’m Anna, and my official job at The House is the Development Officer. What that means is that I get to be the “go-between” for Jason + Kirsten and all of you sweet people that support the ministry happening here at The House. We’ve realized that no one has really been telling you all what’s going on around here, and since we still want Jason and Kirsten to spend their time loving on and discipling UTC’s students, I get to be the one to fix that.
Now that that’s all cleared up, here are some things you should know about me. My husband, Tyler, and I are both House alumni. The House shaped us both so much during our college years, so we’ve really been loving getting to reconnect. We graduated in December of 2015 just two rows apart from each other, but outside of meeting once or twice through mutual friends from The House, we didn’t really know each other at all! We reconnected at Max Patch in October of 2016, after a sweet year and a half of falling in love, he proposed at Sunset rock, and we went back to our mountain this past July to get married.
We’re big hikers, campers, and skiers, but we dabble in other outdoor adventures, as well. Our dog, Coee, who has been by my side for almost four years now, loves to tag along on all of our adventures and is also a big fan of my new job, as she too gets to come to work every day.
I am so looking forward to getting to know you all. One of the things I’m doing as I start this new position is reaching out to all of the people that have been shouldering this ministry for so long (you). I want to hear all about why you love this ministry, how we can better connect with you, and how we can honor your giving well. If you haven’t yet heard from me and would like to share your love of The House with me, it would be my privilege to hear your heart for this ministry. I look forward to catching up with you all over a cup of coffee in the future.
It’s an honor and joy to serve on your behalf.
-Anna Johns, Development Officer
Ecuador Mission Trip
This New Year, we partnered with Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church for a multigenerational mission trip in Ecuador. Kirsten Hyde led a team of 18 as they shared the Gospel in Quito, Ecuador.
“This week in Ecuador helped me re-examine my world view and it changed it entirely. God’s movement was so visible in a part of the Kingdom we don’t often think about in the States. These kids were not dealt an easy hand, but seeing their resilient, beautiful souls being raised in Christ was dumbfounding. I am so inspired by the works God is producing through his servants at For His Children year-round, not just when we go spend a week there, but 24-hours/day, 365-days/year.”
We would love your partnership so we can continue to reveal God’s goodness to College Students through Missions. You can give right now by clicking on this sentence.
