Creative Ways to Give to The House
When Tony, an alum of The House, took a position with his new company, his non-compete clause prohibited him from taking any commissions from competitors. Though Tony had already earned this money, he would never personally see it. So he worked out a way to transfer the funds to a family member who then passed along over $13,000 to The House. What a blessing!
Each year we receive dozens of inquires about how to creatively give to The House, and this month, we want to celebrate that.
Hosting an Intern as a Host Family saves us over $15,000, allows us to hire more Interns, and gives you the opportunity to directly minister to a young leader in the Church.
Offering your house or cabin for us to use for a student or staff retreat saves us thousands of dollars in our operating budget.
Furniture donations. Goodness. Do you know what hundreds of college students do to furniture?! We’ve got The Hub (our coffee shop space) and two residence houses which annually need furniture upgrades. If you’re considering donating an old couch, or you’re responsible for getting new furniture for an office lobby, please shoot us pictures of whatever you’re getting rid of. It can save us hundreds or thousands each year.
Airline miles save us money for mission trips throughout the year. Computers for our student computer station or iPads for our giving stations.
There are other ways to support our discipleship work as well - Host a House Party, join our Board, lead a Core Group, mentor our student leaders. I want to encourage you to consider creative ways to help fund or offset our operating budget. I would love the chance to grab some coffee and chat with you about this or anything you want to know about this amazing ministry in our city.
