College ministry internship (Full-time, Paid)
We’re looking for a recent college graduate (by August 2019) interested in growing in their faith, vocational discernment, and having a tremendous impact on on equipping young disciples of Jesus Christ for ministry in the family, the marketplace, and the Church. We design this program to help us realize the vision of The House while simultaneously giving Interns opportunities to develop spiritually and theologically, discover and use their strengths, work in an atmosphere of personal and professional guidance, and gain practical ministry training. It is our hope to hire two women and two men as Interns to be a part of our team for the 2019-2020 school year.
Timeline: Ideally we will fill all four positions by March 1st, 2019 but will consider applicants until all positions are filled.
Compensation: $1100/mo + room & board.
Work Schedule: From August 1, 2019 - April 30, 2020, this position is a full-time, salaried position with most hours worked during times which are conducive to developing relationships with active college students, including a few nights per week and various weekends throughout the year. Interns will receive more than two weeks of paid vacation over Christmas and New Years.
Responsibilities: Our Intern Staff primarily function as pastoral apprentices who focus their efforts on one-on-one and small group discipleship, executing our weekly worship service, and heading teams of student leaders. The Interns also lead - and recruit and train others to lead - retreats, outreach events, mission trips, and other student events. Furthermore, our Interns are responsible for stewarding our coffee shop space (The Hub) as a ministry of outreach and hospitality to students.
Minimum Requirements: Recent college graduates who profess and demonstrate a faith in Jesus Christ as Lord as laid out in the Bible and articulate in the Apostle’s and Nicene Creed. Furthermore, regular church involvement, and a love for student ministry, personal growth, and God’s people are required. Applicants will be considered on the basis of commitment, motivation, goals, experience, the composition of the staff, and how this opportunity might fit into what God is doing in the life of the applicant and the ministry of The House. If a candidate can prove they have these skills, we are open to hiring him or her.
Ideal candidates will possess a familiarity with the Bible and the Gospel and be good at engendering trust with college students, posses strong skills in verbal communication and managing and leading teams of volunteers. Ideal candidates will also set themselves apart by demonstrating a history of resourcefulness, making things better, strategic risk-taking, and self-starting,
